Livin’ on the Edge

“Couple died in Yosemite fall while taking selfie.” AKA the most millennial way to die, right? It sounds so self-indulgent, so vain. But this story was a real wake-up call for me. The poor couple that died, Vishnu Viswanath and Meenakshi Moorthy, weren’t just tourists. They were travelers. They blogged about their adventures. Hell, in multiple posts they warned about the dangers of being too close to the edge. And yet, they’re gone.

Rick and I take risks all the time. Here’s me last weekend at Zion:

My palms get sweaty every time I look at these pictures. We’re not reckless—the camera angle definitely makes it more dramatic than it was—but we are human. I’m a stumbly mess just in my daily life. I need to be more careful. You be more careful, too.
