When Rick and I travel, we like to hike. But since we’re not very good at hiking, we require a reward. That’s why everywhere we go, we boom.
Booming is sharing a bottle of wine at the top of the mountain. It’s usually white, sometimes cold, always earned. There are only two real rules for booming:
- You can’t use glasses. Drink right out of the bottle. (We’re lushes, but we ain’t fancy.)
- You have to actually hike. We always encourage drinking outdoors, but it doesn’t count as booming until you’ve sweat.
Here I am, booming on a hike in Hawaii:
And here’s Rick, booming in Virginia.
And lest you think we only do this domestically, here’s Rick at the top of the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan.
We even found Boom Boom! wine. It’s a good one, but drinking red wine after working out isn’t always the easiest. Charles Smith, please make a white Boom Boom. Thank you.
So there you have it. Now go forth and boom.
